This was an EA study that confirmed the feasibility and design of new roads within downtown Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The traffic assessment included modelling of the road network within the study area to evaluate future demands using EMME and assessing traffic operations in the area using VISSIM. The analysis considered the complex system consisting of the Hwy 403 freeway to the north (6 lanes + HOV), and the planned Light Rail Transit (LRT) line running along Hurontario Street from Port Credit to Brampton, looping within the Square One area in Mississauga. The study also reviewed demands associated with the LRT and assessed the impacts of locating the LRT either in the median or at the curb side.
