This project involved a transportation assessment to confirm the lane and interchange requirements for the 25 km Extension of the KBM Expressway from Kampala to Mpigi. Transportation modelling was carried out using TRANSCAD demand forecasting and Paramics micro-simulation to evaluate future traffic demands and confirm interchange locations and configurations along the new expressway. As part of this study, the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA) model was updated and enhanced.
