Road Safety Audit Conducted on Select KCCA Roads

Earlier this month, we carried out a detailed Road Safety Audit (RSA) on select roads as part of the Consultancy Services for the Establishment of a Road Safety Unit at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).

These roadways included:
-Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road
-Salaama Rd
-Kawempe – Titula Rd
-Lukuli Rd
-Spring Rd

The exercise began with an entry meeting at the KCCA Offices, where the team engaged in constructive discussions on existing safety concerns, traffic dynamics, and the unique operational challenges along the corridors.

The field audits, conducted during both day and night, enabled a thorough assessment of road geometry, visibility, pedestrian activity, roadside conditions, and access management issues. This approach ensured that the audits captured safety gaps across different operational conditions.

The insights obtained will guide the development of practical safety interventions to make the corridors safer and more accessible for all users.
