𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐤 – 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐢 – 𝐑𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐮 (𝐀13) 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝

TIMCON Associates was recently awarded the 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 for the El Wak–Gari–Rhamu (A13) Road Project in Mandera County.

The project is being implemented by the Government of Kenya through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), with financing from the African Development Bank (AfDB), as part of the improvement of the strategic Isiolo–Mandera Corridor.

The project covers approximately 142 km, comprising:
🔹 Lot 1: El Wak–Gari – 74 km
🔹 Lot 2: Gari–Rhamu – 68 km

Under the assignment, TIMCON will undertake Road Safety Audits during construction, pre-opening and post-opening, alongside work zone and Traffic Management Plan audits, crash data analysis and identification of high-collision locations.

The consultancy also includes the design and implementation of Road Safety Awareness and Sensitisation Campaigns targeting drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, schools, roadside communities, contractors and other key stakeholders throughout the construction period.

As the El Wak–Gari–Rhamu corridor plays an important role in regional connectivity, trade and socio-economic development, integrating road safety into both infrastructure delivery and road-user behaviour is critical to achieving safer outcomes.
