Driving Safer Roads in the Nyanza Region: Road Safety Audit on the Sori–Ndhiwa–Rangwe–Oyugis Corridor

As part of the ongoing Road Safety Assessment of Select Key Roads Along the KeNHA Network Project, our team conducted a comprehensive RSAs along the Sori–Ndhiwa–Rangwe–Oyugis (B144) road, spanning approximately 79 km within the Nyanza Region.
From the entry meeting at the KeNHA Nyanza Regional Office, the discussions focused on local safety challenges, traffic conditions, and coordination for the fieldwork.
Both day and night audits were undertaken to evaluate safety performance under varying conditions, examining elements such as pedestrian activity, intersection control, roadside hazards, and nighttime visibility.
The audit findings will support targeted interventions that enhance safety for all road users along this important regional corridor.
We extend our appreciation to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), particularly the Nyanza Regional Office, for their invaluable technical and logistical support during the field activities.
These efforts reflect the shared commitment between KeNHA and TIMCON Transport towards achieving safer national highways in Kenya
