TIMCON and partners were recently awarded this the project by the Uganda Nationals Roads Authority (UNRA). The Project involves Road Safety Audit and Road Safety Sensitization Education and Awareness Campaign Project that is being undertaken as part of the upgrading of the Kabwoya – Bulima – Kigumba (135km) in North West Uganda.
TIMCON recently participated in the Canadian Trade Mission to Ethiopia. The mission provided opportunities to explore upcoming infrastructural projects in the country and partnership potential with like-minded firms The mission was led by the Canadian Trade Minister Ms Ing and some of the events were graced by the Prime Minister, Mr Justin Trudeau who was in the country for a different agenda.
TIMCON staff recently attended the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference in Road Safety in Stockholm Sweden where the Road Safety targets Agenda and targets were set for the next decade.

Owen Karanja, Transportation Modeller and GIS specialist at TIMCON recently won a scholarship to pursue Postgraduate education in Geographic Information Systems with a minor in Urban Land Use and Transport Planning at the University of Cape Town. He will soon be completing his studies and returning to work!
TIMCON Principal and Director, Dr Timothy Oketch, P. Eng., recently led a Team of World Bank Experts to undertake a Road Safety Audit of the Lagos BRT Extension to Ikorodu in Lagos Nigeria. The audit recommended various improvements to enhance safety of pedestrian and BRT passengers in the corridor.
TIMCON branch in Kenya successfully moved to new offices in SIFA Towers, Lenana Road in Kilimani. The new offices offer a modern and spacious work environment suitable for our growing staff needs and for better Client interaction including conference facilities.

TIMCON staff members have been involved in various training and capacity building activities including Gladys who completed her Master of Science Degree in Transportation Economics from Leeds University in UK; Nancy who participated in a Road Safety Workshop organized by IRF in Abuja Nigeria.
TIMCON recently held a Capacity Building Training for Traffic Impact Studies and Safety for KURA staff. The training took the participants through an overview o f preparation and the assessment of a Traffic Impact Study highlighting main concepts such as the inputs for analysis, safety considerations and advanced methods of analysis. The training was undertaken in association with CIMA.
