Road Safety Assessment & Audit

We undertake safety assessment to identify potential safety problems with an existing or proposed roadway or intersection and conduct Roadway Safety Audits (RSA) during various stages of the project life cycle.

Road safety assessments typically include analysis of the collision history within the project limits, mapping of collision data illustrate collision proximity to various features such as intersections, entrances, geometric elements and auxiliary lanes, collision distributions in terms of type, severity, yearly distributions, hourly, daily, and seasonal characteristics, road surface conditions and lighting conditions and assessment of assessment of the proposed designs to understand the human factors elements that may impact driver perception and reactions and thereby enhanced collision experience.

A road safety audit (RSA) is an excellent tool for identifying opportunities to improve safety at all stages of a roadway’s life-cycle. It involves the establishment of an independent audit team which focuses exclusively on safety, conducts a formal review, and provides specific, safety-related recommendations for consideration by the design team in order to enhance safety for all road users including motorists and vulnerable road users.
