TIMCON Staff Present at 2nd iTRARR Conference, June 2018
At the just completed 2nd International Conference on Transport and Road Research (ITRARR) conference held in Mombasa in June 2018, that was hosted by Kenya Roads Board (KRB) and Material Testing and Research Division (MTRD; TIMCON Associates presented two technical papers namely “An Assessment of LRT Operations in Emery Village, Toronto and potential applications in Kenya” and “Black Spot Analysis and Prioritization in Kenya”..

TIMCON Associates in association with International Roads Federation- IRF, organized a Road Safety Symposium and Workshop in Nairobi in June 2018. The training covered various concepts on road safety management. One participant gave feedback” Very good and eye opening! So informative and well organized” Another said “Heko! The content was relevant and useful to us. The workshops should be more regular and longer”

Road Safety Audit for LAMATA BRT in Lagos
TIMCON Principal and Director, Dr Timothy Oketch, P. Eng., recently led a Team of World Bank Experts to undertake a Road Safety Audit of the Lagos BRT Extension to Ikorodu in Lagos Nigeria. The audit recommended various improvements to enhance safety of pedestrian and BRT passengers in the corridor.
New Offices for TIMCON Kenyan Branch
TIMCON branch in Kenya successfully moved to new offices in SIFA Towers, Lenana Road in Kilimani. The new offices offer a modern and spacious work environment suitable for our growing staff needs and for better Client interaction including conference facilities.

TIMCON staff members have been involved in various training and capacity building activities including Gladys who completed her Master of Science Degree in Transportation Economics from Leeds University in UK; Nancy who participated in a Road Safety Workshop organized by IRF in Abuja Nigeria.
Recent Stakeholder Workshops
TIMCON recently held a Capacity Building Training for Traffic Impact Studies and Safety for KURA staff. The training took the participants through an overview o f preparation and the assessment of a Traffic Impact Study highlighting main concepts such as the inputs for analysis, safety considerations and advanced methods of analysis. The training was undertaken in association with CIMA.
